Elton John and Billy Joel - About Elton John and Billy Joel
Elton John’s musical career started at a very early age. At the age of 3, he started playing piano. He received formal lessons at the age of 7. At 11, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. According to one of his teachers, he was able to play back a lengthy piece by Handel after hearing it once. By 1972, John had created the Elton John Band and released Honky Chateau, from which the songs “Rocket Man” and “Honky Cat” became famous. The album hit number one in the US. He recorded with acts like John Lennon and continued his musical career throughout the 1990s. His music not only covered pop, but soundtracks for movies like “The Lion King”.
Billy Joel’s career began when he learned to play piano at an early age as well. He started his solo career in 1971, and opened for groups such as the J. Geils Band and the Beach Boys. He soon got a record deal with Columbia and recorded his first major album, Piano Man, which spawned the hit song of the same name. His other hits included “A Matter of Trust”, “Just The Way You Are”, and “We Didn’t Start The Fire”, among others.
These two musicians first teamed up in 1994, but they have not toured together since 2003. This makes getting tickets for their concert a priority.
